Project Goal: Within two areas of Tangail town, to decrease the vulnerability of 'children at risk' and marginalised children by increasing their educational opportunities, improving health and enhancing the vocational opportunities and financial security of their parents Project Objectives - Community Cooperation and Institution Building: To raise understanding amongst participants of the benefits of working cooperatively and to develop leadership to ensure the sustainability of these benefits
- Functional Education: To increase to 65% the rate of literacy and numeracy amongst participant and to assist 50% of children to enter mainstream education by class five
- Savings & Income Generation: To improve the financial security of group members through increased savings and income-earning options
- Health and Nutrition: To substantially improve the health of group members and the community's children and increase awareness regarding important health, nutrition and hygiene issues
- Social and Justice Issues: To increase the awareness of group members of their rights and responsibilities regarding important social and justice issues

Success Story: Chamily Akther living in a Village name Barabuchna Dist. Tangail. She is from a poor family. She got married while she was child because her parents don’t have enough earning source to feed all the family members. Her husband was poor to. His income was not sufficient too to support the family.
One day one of our staff meets with her and she shared all her problems with our staff. After listening everything from her we suggested her to join into our functional education group. We also discussed with her regarding our activities. After all the discussion she agreed to join into our functional education group. After a period of time she received sewing training from our vocational training activity. She found that this training can change her life. She bought a sewing machine after this training and start receiving order from the community members. Now her present income is abut tk 200 to tk 250 per day. |

Story: Shanaj bagum is a housewife. She is 33 and married and she has One daughter and Two sons. She is living in Sabugbag village. Her husband is a painter. She is Riacksha Driver. Her husband income is not enough to maintain her family. Once one of our staff meets with her and she shared most of her financial problems. Our staff suggested her to join to our savings group and she was agree to join. Then she joined to the saving group and start saving money to the savings group’s in weekly basis. She also got income generation training from us. Now she gave a small shop and selling Cake. She is earning money not less then Tk 80 to 100 per day which is giving very well support to her family. Now her daughter and both the sons are going to the school and she is really happy with the changes occurred to her life. |
