Project Objectives

  1. The objectives of TRDS were revised for 2006 to 2007 and are now as follows:
  2. To develop organizational capacity amongst the participating community partners.
  3. To raise the literacy and numeracy skills of group members to a functional level.
  4. To raise the income-earning capacity of group members and their families.
  5. To improve the health status of the families of groups members.
  6. To increase the community's awareness of important environmental, social and human rights issues.

Story:
Zohora is a woman and about 30 years old. She lives in Darichandraw bari village in Dhanbari upazila in Tangail district. She was illiterate and a housewife. She is married and She has one son and a daughter. Her children couldn’t go to school. She used to cook to others house and earn money. Her income was Tk 300 per month. Her husband has no work. They were living in a hut. The health of other family members were very poor. This income was not enough for maintaining their family. She were not aware of education, health, women rights, human rights, child marriage etc. Poverty was big problem for them. They were rejected in their community. Nobody did not respect to them. She was living with help less and hopes less condition.
